Starting yesterday, Wednesday Dec 3rd, 2008, business and organizations that have trademarked names can register their domain names with the .tel TLD extension. But it will cost you some money! At around $400 the price is a premium for those who wish to secure their domain names with the new extension.

If you can wait, and if your name doesn’t get taken before you can get it, After Feb 3, 2009, the price will drop to around $150 and then to around $20 after March 24, 2009.

Head Tracking Display System

Apple has applied for a patent for a head tracking display system. From the filings of the patent applied for in February, the device looks like a pair of googles that would display a media file from a media device. The patent claims that as the viewer rotates his or her head or moves it in anyway, a built in gyroscope and accelerometer (also found in the iPod touch and iPhone) in the goggles could adjust the media file in a way in which it would appear to the user as if they were in a theater. This could help cause motion sickness issues while viewing a movie in the car, plane, train, etc.

Best Buy to sell iPhone3G?

According to AppleInsider.com and other sources (Engadget), Best Buy may be close to offering the Cupertino-based Apple’s newest iPhone model, the iPhone3G, as early as next month.

This would make Best Buy the first independent U.S. reseller to offer the the highly sought after touchscreen handset outside of Apple and AT&T. To find out more, read this article.

Chrysler cars to become wireless hotspots

As part of Chrysler’s 2009 Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep models, customers will have the option of installing a system which will hook into the vehicles onboard electronics, allowing them to connect cellular telephones, laptops, and portable media players. This systems connects with cellular networks to provide internet access, thus creating a hot spot in the automobile.
