Having a sharp and user friendly website is a must in today’s marketplace. In order to gain recognition for your brand or to be taken seriously as a business, requires a great web presence. For out of town visitors, having a website that showcases your business and its services is a must. Just the other day, we were looking for a specific service in our hometown, and without knowing it, we started narrowing down our choices by 1) Did the company have a website, and 2) Was the website user friendly, provide the information we needed, and was it well designed. As we thought about this, we realized that we were conducting a usability test against ourselves. What do people want to see when they search for a business on the web? They want to see a well designed and informative website, one that is very user friendly, and allows them to find the information they need as quickly as possible. Let’s face it, without a web presence in today’s market place, business will become slower, maybe even non-existent.

had a recent blog design survey that was sent out to web designers all over the place. One of the main questions that I wanted to see the feedback on, was a question about fixed layout widths in web design.
Google launched another version of their online maps program. Google Maps Walking Directions is a great new tool for city goers who are trying to save money on gas, parking, or just want to get out an get some exercise.
